Wizard Radio Setlist 4/5/09

hey yall.

welcome to my new blog. didn't want to litter the myspace blog every week with setlists, so thought i'd move them, and other musical ramblings over here.

The show was kind of frustrating today, because i just returned to K Starke's Records again on friday and bought a big stack of records i was really excited about, and then one of the turntables at the radio station was messed up and so half my records sounded like crap. I also wasn't paying close attention today, so my transitions were horrible. I'll just have to bring some of these records back next time when Studio A is back up and running so that i can do them justice.

anyhow here's today's setlist:

M83 - "Moon Child"
Ray Charles - "Rainy Night In Georgia" & "If You Wouldn't Be My Lady"
Miriam Makeba - "Ngalala Phantsi"
Grooove & The Gang - "In The Mood To Party (Crazy Jam)"
Black Moth Super Rainbow - "Raspberry Dawn"
The Temptations - "Papa Was A Rolling Stone"
Spiritualized - "Sad Days Lonely Nights"
Prince - "Purple People Paisley Punk Promo (white label "1999" House remix)"
Heavenly Five - "Lord Search My Heart"
Brenda Fassie - "Black President"
The James Gang - "Thanks" & "Ya Dig?"
Viola - "Little Girl (Put Cha Clothes Back On Dub)"
Grover Washington Jr. - "Georgia On My Mind"
Freeez - "Pop Goes My Love"
Little Junior Parker/Bobby Blue Bland - "Barefoot Rock"
Roger (Troutman) - "Heard It Through The Grapevine"
Tarentel - "Elephant Shoes"
Suga Bang Bang - "Don't Test/Wu Stallion"
Buddy Miles - "The Way I Feel Tonight"
Bonnie 'Prince' Billy - "Lay & Love"
The Spellbinders - "For You"
Crystal Castles - "Crimewave (Crystal Castles vs Health)"
Isaac Hayes - "Something"

so yea.. woulda been a good set if it werent for turntable2 being faulty and ruining the sound of the Purple People Paisley Punk Promo record, as well as the Viola and Freeez ones... so i'll have to bring those again later. anyhow... stay tuned as usual.

sunday 3-6pm central. 88.3fm chicago. wzrdchicago.org worldwide via realplayer.

cheers!
